The answer is that the candles came before electricity.The newly married couples, needed some light, to see each other in the night.To look into eyes of one another and enjoy the gesture protocols.Without electricity, candles were the only option left.Another reason,it came, was a kind of hypnotism.If a candle is lit, most of the times we like to see the flame on top of it.This way when the girl and guy looked at the top of flame together, their eyes met again and again.Finally it became a trend.
Some people started having such dinners daily to save electricity bills.Govt should also promote such things, to save national power.

The precis is to save the electricity fights, and have more and more dinners in candle light....
